Fitness and Health Calculators

BMI, calories, body fat, running pace, pregnancy and other health measures.

Health calculators turn a few simple measurements into useful numbers. Check your BMI and healthy weight range, find how many calories you need a day and your basal metabolic rate, or estimate your body fat percentage from a few tape measurements.

For training, the pace calculator works out running and walking pace and finish times, the calories burned calculator covers dozens of activities, and the one rep max and target heart rate calculators help you plan the intensity of a workout.

The pregnancy calculators find your due date and how far along you are, when you ovulate, when your next period is due and how much weight to gain week by week.

These tools use widely accepted formulas from research and from organizations such as the World Health Organization and the American Heart Association, and each page explains the formula behind its result. They are a quick check, not a diagnosis. Talk to a doctor or another healthcare professional before making changes based on a result.

Frequently asked questions

Are these health calculators accurate?

They use standard, widely published formulas, so they give a good estimate for most adults. They do not account for every factor, such as muscle mass, medical conditions or medication, so a doctor can give you a more precise picture.

Can I use metric units?

Yes. The body calculators accept both US units (pounds, feet and inches) and metric units (kilograms and centimeters).

Which formula does the BMR calculator use?

You can choose the Mifflin-St Jeor, Harris-Benedict or Katch-McArdle formula. Mifflin-St Jeor is the most widely used for adults; Katch-McArdle uses your body fat percentage.

How is a due date calculated?

The usual method adds 280 days, or 40 weeks, to the first day of your last period, adjusted for your cycle length. The Due Date Calculator can also start from the conception date, an ultrasound or an IVF transfer.

Is my health information stored?

No. Everything you enter stays in your browser and is never sent to our servers.
